Women’s Bible Study

Martha’s Circle

Martha’s Circle is a group of women in First Presbyterian Church who meet on the third Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 from September through May to study the Bible using the Presbyterian Women’s booklet as a guide.   A week or two before the monthly meeting the woman who will serve as the lesson leader meets with Pastor Stephen (along with any other women who choose to attend) as he shares insights about the study.
In addition to Bible study the members choose a local charity to support each month with both money and articles that have been requested by each group.   In addition they give monetary gifts to the church staff, our seminary students and missionary at Christmas.
The circle hosts a Christmas Tea for the entire congregation during Advent, and they prepare and serve one of the Community Lenten luncheons held at the First Methodist Church.   They also have pot luck dinners in August and June (before and after the study) so members have a chance to visit and get to know one another.

All women of the church are welcome to join the Martha Circle to study God’s word, to serve, and to share.

Sisters in Spirit (SIS) is a women’s bible study group that meets at the church every Monday night at 7:00 P.M. The group does Bible studies or book discussions depending on what the group decides. The goal of the group is to help bring a greater understanding of our faith, and ultimately advance our personal relationship with God. This is a fun and loving group, all are welcome to join us.
